Do you like my goofy hat? Well if you don’t, then we probably can’t work together so you should stop reading now. Just kidding! Actually, I’m not kidding. You’re going to need a sense of whimsical humor to change something as awe inspiring as your brain, but I digress. This is the part of the website that is all about the fabulous creature known as Christa. All joking aside, this page really is all about me and I share my deep, dark secrets only so you can decide whether we can work together.
So, my journey to help women began when I obtained my Psychology degree in my hometown of New Orleans. [Warning: this is the boring part. Well, actually that’s not true if you ever heard me talking about my cases. Hint: they sent me all the bizarre ones that were too weird for anyone else to handle!] I went on to Tulane Law School and embarked on a 19 year career as a trial lawyer, admitted to practice law in Louisiana, Arizona and Oregon.
For years, I practiced law at the oldest and one of the largest law firms in Arizona where I became a full equity partner. I went on to start my own successful law firm managing a team of employees and running a small business. Despite winning the Phoenix Business Journal's Forty Under 40 Award, being named in Arizona's Top Lawyers in Litigation, and receiving the AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rating by Martindale-Hubbell - the highest rating available to attorneys [told you I was kind of fabulous], I wanted to make a real difference in the lives of the powerful women I worked with on a daily basis.
I spent almost 20 years advising large corporations and small business owners on managing their companies, dealing with difficult employees, training and risk management. In my law firm management and partner experience, there were recurring issues surrounding boundaries, setting expectations and lack of time for quality mentoring of staff, associates and junior partners. Companies large and small, law firms large and small, continued to have problems with revenue, productivity, creativity, retention, employee satisfaction, marketing and management but consulting did not seem to resolve these issues. I wanted to make a meaningful impact by transforming lives [aka Action instead of Reaction].
I went back to my roots [in other words, food and community, which go hand in hand]. Loving all things Creole, including cooking up creative gourmet meals, always allowed me to create a community of women and mothers even after leaving my beloved New Orleans [it’s called Woodstock Cooks! but that’s not really relevant]. Looking for a way to impact my beautiful community of women, I experienced firsthand the transformation of business coaching.
Completely changing my money mindset through coaching literally transformed my life -- not just my business life but all my relationships [insert magical ideal life here – seriously, I found the unicorn]. I wanted to share this magic "business voodoo" with other women so they could achieve the success and results I did, and went on to become a certified money coach.
Since I've integrated money coaching into my practice, I have been blown away by the results it has achieved for my clients. I can't wait to see the magic happen through the Business Voodoo of You!
